    Another essential of the year-end celebrations, gingerbread takes the form of a cake coated in a delicate shell of milk chocolate. The warm, honeyed notes of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, pepper, cardamom and anise are layered with the floral flavor of orange blossom and the rich, caramelized notes of pistachio, brought together in a deliciously crisp praline.
