This brioche pastry is flavored with spices and garnished with candied orange and lemon peel, as well as sultanas and dried currants soaked in old gold rum, roasted almonds and almond paste. There is perfect equilibrium between the spiced pastry, the crunch of the fruit and the silky texture of the almond paste.
This traditional German cake is sliced very thin (4mm) and served with mulled wine at Christmas.
